New Lanark in West Lothian, in Scotland. After a walk of some 35 minutes and 53 steps later I eventually reached the viewing platform where I could take some shots. As usual, no tripod with me :baldy: so I had to make do resting arm on a post and holding my breath for the 1/4 second at F11 while I snapped away.
Next time I will be properly kitted out as it was more a family outing than a photography expedition. It has made us want to shoot most of the waterfalls in Scotland now though as I have done ..... 2 .... so far and I quite enjoy it.
Unfortunately by time I got to the falls the sun was overhead, well more 1pm so there was a bit of haze, but I think it turned out not to bad none the less.
Anyway, your comments are always appreciated.

Steve i don't think it's bad , just a bit bland , there's no center of interest to draw the eye , maybe a lower viewpiont might have given it a bit of a dynamic feel .
I'm sure you know what i mean , a lot of mine end up being ignored and i've got to stand back and take a second look , taught me to think about the shot before i press the shutter .
Don't seem to matter i still get ignored a lot

Yes ... this was the only vantage point that was on the "trail" so unless I go back with wellies, and some other gear, probably a rope o hang off side of cliff face, then I cant get any other vantage point .... ho hum, maybe next one

Glad to see you manage over to my side of the country, Steve.
In summer the entire gorge is much more shaded. I have a picture from almost the same spot last summer.....did you find my tripod holes ?
My picture was taken mid September last year. You may notice there is much more water going down the gorge. On this day they had shut off the hydro-electric generating station about a mile upstream, and all the water was allowed over the falls. This only happens 2 days a year, and at other times the discharge from the hydro station is a bit further downstream, by-passing the falls.

There is another set of falls (Bonnington Linn) further upstream which I think are more photogenic. You have to carry on up the path for about another half mile, cross over the dam, and come back down the other bank for a few hundred yards
