I prefer the black & white. The shot itself is very nice. I'd like to see less hair covering her right eye, but it's still nicely lit and a nice pose.

I prefer color, but IMHO too much legs for such beautiful face :) :hitother: :evilnyah:

I prefer color but perhaps toned down a notch. But B&W is nice too.

I prefer the B/W, but I mostly shoot LF B/W so that will sway my opinion.

I normally prefer colour but this one has a horrible yellow cast over it so I would go b/w. I am also with Igor on the Legs. Lovelly that they are there is too much compared to the face, unless it is a shot for a razor company.

Sorry to desagree with Igor about the legs... Here's why i find "them" well proportionated (?) in the frame....

Cheers,
J-P.

The lines may all be going in the right direction but the main thing that draws the attention first (in my opinion) is all that bare skin on the legs. That whole area takes up nearly 75% of the frame.
I am sure that the model was happy tough and that is all that counts.

Hi folks,

See this is where forums are great, as there is such a varied amount of opinion and taste.

For me the legs ARE the focal point on this photo. JPS I didnt even notice the lines to be honest, its not something I pay particular attention too, although I did learn about circles and triangles when I was at college. Now your crop however I dont like as its too square for me.

What I tend to do with my images, is keep them at the ratio for the sensor, which is 2:3, so 8x12, 6x9, 6x4 is all the same ratio. I tend NOT to crop outside these ratios, which is my personal preferrence.

I did however forget/miss the levelling of the colour version on this one, but its no biggie, I still got the original RAW file, so might take look at it tonight if I get time.

I am finding that I have got a lot more shots from this session than the last though, and our next session will be shot with one light only .... should be interesting.

Thanks again for all your comments and suggestions folks, I will try to comment more myself, as I think I have been a little selfish lately.

I'm not sure about JP's crop but he did get rid of the attention grabbing light trap between her legs. Not sure if she were to move so it wasn't there to begin with if it would add width the part of the leg you really don't WANT width to, but I know light traps are a no no.

Do a test, turn it upside down and bring someone new into the room, ask them to point quickly to the first place their eyes go.
