Hi Everyone,
I found that the my SB-28 not consistance with the S2 Pro.
Then I have heard soemone saying that the SB-28 is not truely compatible with the S2 Pro.
Like should I buy a SB80DX, would that help?!
I have problem like diff. ISO require me to use diff. F-stop to control flash output, or it would either over / under expose easily.
(It sort of feel like I am using it in manul mode)
For some situation when it would over expose with DTTL or TTL, it would work under Auto.
Any suggestions?!

See the still-active, meaty, in-depth thread about this at http://www.s2pro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1215
I found that TTL is not consistant. I recommend doing tests with TTL vs. Auto flash modes. You may find Auto a lot better than TTL.
I don't think the Nikon DX flashes are any better on the S2.

The SB-28 IS compatible with the S2....just don't use TTL. Use auto and it'll work fine. The Nikon digital cameras (D100, D1x/h) require you to use the "digital" line of flashes but the Fuji S2 can use any Nikon flash.

Also, it is even more so compatible using SB-28DX version. This version was re-designed for use with digital SLR's.
I bought one the other day now, and have been very happy with the results so far!!

ghawk,
I am confused by your response above. If one uses the SB-28 on auto, what are the S2 camera settings? Aperture preferred mode?

TTL is somewhat useless with the S2.
[A], Auto works fine.
The S2 flash compensations do not apply to Auto Flash Mode. You would have to do it manually by mismatching the F-stops on the flash.
The advantage with the SB-80dx would be the 1/3 flash compensation.

Mr. Stacey,
Now you have further confused me. What do you mean by: "The S2 flash compensations do not apply to Auto Flash Mode. You would have to do it manually by mismatching the F-stops on the flash."?
All I was trying to understand is that if you set the SB-28 to auto, say f5.6, what are the S2 camera settings? Do you set the S2 on A mode (lens is set at f5.6) or are you completely manual with the S2 on M mode (lens set at f5.6 and shutter speed at say 1/45 - 1/60).
Can you clarify pls?

I too only use my SB-28 on A mode. TTL is far to inconsistant.
Mr Stacey, I love the gathering of photos above. How did you assemble them in such fine fashion.

Metz is spelled M-E-T-Z
sorry just kidding, forget the nikon flashes and think Metz. I don't work for them but I'm sold on their flashes. Try the 54 MZ-4, it's a winner.

About the SB-800,
The SB-800 is working quite well.
You would run the Flash @ AA mode.
It would automatically adjust the aperture, either u use the M,A,S,P on your camera setting.
Compansation is also easy. Just dial the compation dial on your camera.
Yes, it isn't good as true working TTL, but it has been working quite well for me!
