Photo Adventure 2006
Canadians we need your help to make the most of our stay :help:
In late July we fly to Vancouver for 4 nights, what are the best photo opportunities in and around Vancouver?
Then we go on the Rocky Mountaineer Gold Leaf service and have a overnight stay in Kamloops.
Back on the rocky Mountaineer to Banff at Kodak speed so lots of good photo opportunities.
Drive from Banff to Jasper for 2 nights around Icefield’s parkway and a day around Lake Peyto and any more suggestions around Jasper would be good.
Then a Drive to Panorama Mountain Village near Invermere and stay in a lodge for a week.
So for our week in Panorama Mountain Village we have planned.
Lake Louise
Yoho National Park
Moraine Lake
Emerald Lake
Do you know of any good photo opportunities around Invermere or Yoho National Park?
Then we drive to Calgary and stay over for a day and fly back to the UK. :cry2:

Hopefully my reply will help boot your message back up so that someone from the western part of the country will reply. I'd like to help but alas, I am some distance from Vancouver (Toronto) and haven't been there for a few years. But it does sound like you will have a great trip, you are visiting some of the most dramatic scenery that Canada has to offer. I'm sure we have a westerner or two on this forum, hope they see this post and reply.
Best of luck,
Adrian

Thanks Adrian,
We travelled around Toronto, Niagara Falls, New Foundland and Nova Scotia in July last year. You live in a fantastic City and we were well entertained with the Molson Indy and we also went to watch the Argonauts play.

You're welcome Phil. We Torontonians are proud of our city and we invite you back...once it's finished! There are only two seasons in Toronto, winter and construction. (local joke).
Banff and Lake Louise are great spots, very beautiful, the mountains are most impressive, by all means check out the Banff Springs Hotel and the hot springs - very relaxing. Calgary is a modern city with some interesting architecture (I lived there for two years) and Vancouver is also a very beautiful spot, Stanley Park is worthy of a visit, Cypress Mountain and West Van are great visits too. But really you need to get on the ground info, as I have never lived there and have only visited twice. I guess it all depends on what you want to shoot.
Cheers,
Adrian

I would like to. can you make a recommendation?
Sorry Phil, I wish I could help but my knowledge of west cost is very limited as I’ve only been there once. Maybe you can PM "stateless" as he lives in Calgary and may have missed your post.
