A new user logged in the other day as an advertisement gimmick. So here's their advertisement.

They logged in as sales@microglobe.co.uk and I had complaints about how they do business. Saying they had stock in something that they didn’t, then holding the money until they got product (if they ever did get product) among other complaints.

So Microglobe, here you go. A nice post to let people know about how you do business and how much people love when users sign in as a sales person here.

I hope you, as the faithful users that you are, remember this name and when ever you see someone asking about the reliability of this place, you let them know to run as far away from this place as possible.

I also hope that spammers scanning our forums pick up this email address and spam the hell out of them. :D

Funnily enough, sales@microglobe.co.uk (go spammers, go spammers ra ra ra) came up as a topic of conversation during our Forum meet as not supplying goods when promised, taking your money etc etc.

I personally fell foul of their sales techniques when searching for the 18-200 lens. They told me they had them in stock in their warehouse ....... just forgot to tell me that their warehouse was in Japan and was, funnily enough, located within the same building as Nikon!!!

I know Brian (sandman) had a run in with them over an S3, so they haven't made many friends here on this forum for sure.

Boy, you lot are viscious! :)

I bought something from Microglobe a couple of years ago via eBay and was so impressed with the price and service that I enquired about buying other stuff direct from their website - can't remember exactly how but I soon realised that a lot of their "stock" was virtual and I've looked elsewhere since.
I buy nearly all my stuff on eBay but have been very pleased in my dealings with UK dealers Bristol Cameras and Robert White.
Bought a Sigma lens from Pixmania once, it came very quickly from Paris but was rattling around in a big box with no padding! :(
I can understand why some people still prefer a personal visit to a real shop over internet buying :)

Cheers, Robin

I'm having bad experience with Bristol Cameras at the moment. Still not received my BIGMA, after ordering it last Wednesday, and have never been told its out of stock or nithing. In fact after a few calls, it was meant to be dispatched Friday for Saturday .... nothing !!!

Wish we could have a report on online retailers service records, cos this it just pants ... sitting here on a holiday Monday, with no new lens to try out !!! :mad2:

There is. http://www.resellerratings.com/ I didn't find Bristol Cameras there...maybe they go by another name online? Or maybe there has not been a review written about them yet....until you write yours and let others know how you were treated.

... they havent even replied to the email ... which went along these lines

Good morning,

After ordering a SIGMA 50-500mm Nikon Fit lens on Wednesday 24th May, I have still not received this item. The only confirmation I have had has been an email confirming the order. Now I have called on Thursday, Friday and now Saturday to ask for status on my order, yet am getting no where. I was told on Friday that the lens was only due into you this day and would be dispatched that day.

Nothing has arrived Saturday, so I called again, and because there is no one in from parcel office, I cant be told status of my order? The gent who also answered the phone hung up on my call after I told him that I was not prepared to wait till TUESDAY for an update on my order, with the response “well I cant help you sir” !!!

To be quite frank, this is my first experience with Bristol Cameras, and to be honest, the customer service, and whole order process has been extremely unsettling. I ordered from Bristol Cameras going by the letters of good service on your site, but it seems that this is not entirely true in my opinion.

Looks like after spending almost £700 with your company, I have to wait over a week on my goods, I should have been notified from the outset that the item was not in stock as I could have got it locally albeit a little more expensive. Guess I shall have to wait until Tuesday now. I only hope my clients are as understanding about your service.

Yours angrily,

There .... see if you can spot it on their testimonials !!! :mad2: :mad2:

So, let me get this straight...
sales@microglobe.co.uk is a bad company. They are getting free advertisement and name branding by mentioning their name over and over, but it's negative publicity. People will be curious about them and perhaps would visit their site and browse arround, but would not take a chance on doing business with them. They would know that sales@microglobe.co.uk has good prices..in fact, they might as well offer it for free since you are not going to get it any way.
Did I get it right?
sales@microglobe.co.uk is a company on the virge of disaster?
Keep me straight. I need all the help and information I can get. :surrender

Send the morons a link to this thread letting them know they've lost quite a bit of business from members as well as those who browse and end up here.

Maybe we should start a 'deadbeat' thread that holds this type of info? As well as an 'as promised' thread? The deadbeat thread would be great, I think.

Let me put the record straight over this , i first brought this up , both on here and on our Stratford meet .
First i needed a new flash and microglobe was the cheapest for the SB800 in the UK. i ordered one and got it within 3 days , so did APS (another member .
So no problem there .
Then i wanted the D2X , it was on their website for £400 less than anyone else , so i phoned them and ordered one , first asking if it was in stock , i was told it was and would be sent straight away .
After 4 days it haddened shown up , tracking it i was told it had not been shipped , i left it for 2 days and tried again , no joy still not shipped , so a phone call .
''No problem , we're send it straight away sorry''
so i waited a few more days , another call .
''Have you actually got one in stock''
''ERR NO , we're waiting on a shipment , next week at the earliest sorry''
Cancell order .
No problem visa payment refunded .
3 weeks later an e-mail tells me they have in stock , do i still want it ''
NO.
Then when all of the UK is listing the 18-200 on back order , they have it advertised as in stock , so i called them .
''err we don't actually have it , but as soon as we do we'll send it if you pay a deposit''
This is the same as every photographic retailer in the UK , and the price difference is small .
All this corresponded to our Stratford meet and on hearing microglobes name brought up i warned Mark and Bob about them and told them this story .
Then a few months back i saw their name listed as a new member , for what reason i have'nt a clue but i PMed Swampy and warned him it might be a spammer .
Now they are a legitamate company , and i have dealt with them succesfully in the past , but on these two occassions they have mislead me and proberbly others .
So i hope this clears it up , they ,as far as i know are not up to anything fraudulent nor are they crooks , it's just i would'nt deal with them again myself .

Brian
