I use a free gallery system called Coppermine on my website to display my pictures.

Now I found a free Exif reader that adds the exif info of my pictures to my gallery. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work for the S2.

It shows the Exif for the Sony cam but it doesn't seem to be able to read exif from the Fuji S2. It has a fujifilm.php file to go with it but that was only tested for:
FujiFilm DX 10
FujiFilm MX-1200
FujiFilm FinePix2400
FujiFilm FinePix2600
FujiFilm FinePix S602
FujiFilm FinePix40i

Does anyone have a gallery website up and running that displays Exif info extracted from the file?

The Exif reader I was talking about is: Exifer 1.3, found at:

Check out my thread about ThumbsPlus and EXIF in the software forum. Tho not free, TP is only about 89 US$, and shows all the S2 data. TP is mainly an image file database application. It also builds a gallery, and you can see an example at www.tonymindling.com under Lakes Basin. I copied and pasted part of the TP EXIF data from the S2 files into the captions.

Hope this helps,
Tony

Hi Tony,

Thanx for the reply. I mailed the creator of Exifer about this and he actually replied! So hopefully I'll get an update on Exifer that will read all the Fuji S2 EXIF info as well.

The advantage is that Exifer will read the EXIF info on the fly in my web-gallery, so I don't have to do the Copy-Paste trick.

I'll let you know if I get the update. If you site is able to run PHP code, you can use it as well.

Like you gallery!
You can find mine at www.seriousplay.nl (http://www.seriousplay.nl). Some pictures were taken with a Sony cam, these have EXIF info displayed.
(e.g. http://www.seriousplay.nl/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=8)

I checked out your nice albums as well as the Exifer Website. I like the idea that you can use it to copy the EXIF data back into processed files. That would be good for archiving processed images as well as their data onto CDs. Yes, I would be interested in hearing from you how the Exifer update works with the S2 files.

Regards,
Tony

Hi Tony,

The guy from EXIFER looked at my pictures from the S2 and said that the problem wasn't with de S2 images, but with photoshop. Photoshop seems to mess up the EXIF info so it can't be read by EXIFER.

So If you use your pictures on the website directly of the S2, Exifer should be ok with reading the exif data. I don't know whta PS does with the EXIF.

I downloaded Exifer today, pretty cool program. The distance to subject field is listed has "unknown". I have a Sigma "D" lens. I thought the d was for distance. Do you have to use a Nikon lens for this field to list properly?

D does stand for Distance.

But the camera must write the details into the EXIF in a standard way else it is lost. Some data are written into what is called a manufacturers field and these data are not shown sometimes.
