Well we know that means get her the perfect gift....I don't have any kids however there sure are plenty of the little tykes around!

This was one of the little girls.

I'm trying to learn how to do these collage things, this one I just left simple still needs some tweaking but I'm getting tired and I wanna go home now! :p

Melody  (can't forget that Brian won't recognize me  )

edit: whoa does that look pink and purple on the web :woot: maybe I better look at that border again in the morning ;) too late for now!

Woderfull studies!
Would make excellent gifts, for sure :righton:
You're really getting very good at this dear ;)

The collage format is a good one to master, if you are going to get up to volume sales with that concept (collage), a specialised piece of software will quickly pay for itself.

P.S.
Just found this link
I bought the Pro version last year, it's been updated since.

Melody,

That's a nice collage and the portraits are very nice also. You captured some nice expressions on the little girl. I'm sure her parens will be very pleased. The only suggestion I migt make is to warm up the flesh tones on the top two to make them match the bottom two.

Thanks Dear, that means a lot to me, this is harder for me then anything else I've tried. If I'm outside and its something moving fast or loud I'm much more comfortable and confident.

I appreciate the link! I'd read about the program on another forum however I trust your judgement much more then these people I don't know :)

OMG!! I was so tired at the time I didn't even notice that! YIKES :woot: Thank you! For pointing that out before I printed it, the darn thing would have glared at me then and I'd have to have done it all over again. I've really got to look at images differently mroe closely if I'm going to do this....ah something else to watch in this, sheesh horses are easier

Hi again,

check out their online Flash video, gives a good idea of how it works, I downloaded the free upgrade to V3.7 last night, and played with it again, very powerfull and slick interface, and very easy to use. :righton:

Hey Melody,
That collage is a very nice set up. I think I may try that layout, or something similar for my collages..... :)

I do lots of collages, and am always looking for new designs.

Thanks for the new idea!

:) It all started when I got a few actions for the collage templates then decided hmmm maybe a bit different, then I found a tutorial on how to make an action for them.... haven't really had time to look at that yet...however I have been playing! Some work some don't rather interesting experimenting though.

Here's another one I played with this week, sorry for my name all over it I don't have a copy without it here at home and I sent it to the mom as a sample/idea of the collage idea... There are so many ways to do it, however when I'm making them at the moment they have to be very basic

I had made some actions of my own for making the frame part. But I can't always get them to work. On my new computer it's impossible to make the actaions again :mad2: :mad2: :mad2:

I do a lot of cutting out the subject and placing it over another image, making the collage have a 3D sort of feel. I posted some examples of my collages in Barbara's thread "Maraton Runner" last week.

I like doing my own layouts, since the photos and needs of the people vary so much. I also like them each to look unique. I'm pretty good at throwing them together. Editing the photos is the time consuming part.

I saw that fabulous!!

I very much agree :) I found several fabulous templates however if I had say 5 images I wanted to use some would be horizontal where the template needed vertical for the fame or would be in the wrong order or something...or just a wrong # of images etc. I can put these together fairly quickly now. I'll have to look at the software here Serge recommended to see how flexible it is for me :)

For just samples of a concept or something the software ProSelect has templates to show collage grouping ideas which is plain however during viewing sessions it's quick. One thing I've found though is of the three I presented to clients all sold without hesitation :) The only thing I think I need to be careful of is how to offer/pricing on them, too good and you elimate them wanting individual prints. I've preliminary priced them at $120.00 for a 10 x 20 image, that seemed to be an average price when I researched, some have them priced much higher.

hi Ladies,
I've just stagerred home from a party, it's 1.oo am and I've got to shoot a wedding in about 12 hours, but glad you are getting into the collage thingy, that Lumapix is really very powerfull software, went to a trade show this afternoon, the number of companies offering specialise albums, was really amazing, some really good ideas I saw. More later from the show tomorrow, gotta hit the sack :)

Barbara, you done well, and Melody, that's another great example, you
would have loved the show, so much product there for everything you could wish for, yah. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :D

Hi Barbara,

I got the Pro version, but thinking of upgrading to the Studio version which allows multiple pages, and whole Album designs which can be sent for printing to participating labs.

The Pro version should give you plenty of scope, and the modest asking price is well worth it, if you are looking at doing and selling collages in quantity.

I think the interface is very slick and powerfull, the more you get into it, the more you discover all the power and possibilities, go for it!
