On a shoot this past weekend I had loaded two brand-new CR123's in my S2. About 1/2 way thru this outdoor event I noticed that the battery display showed about 1/2 scale on both the top and back display. I check the battery compartment and it was empty.

I can only assume that somehow I managed to either not securely latch the battery compartment closed or it came open, dropped the cells and then got reclosed.

I lost two fresh cells. I had gotten these at a discount ($2.60 each) at http://www.allelectronics.com.

I'd have really been bummed if they had been the $6.00 ones.

Watch your camera. I'm working on a solution for this problem.
(something more elegant that duct tape) [grin]

I saw a guy photographing last weekend, and I followed him around for a while, and I found 2 new CR123 batteries!:D Just kidding.

A fellow forum friend foraged & found a fine source for CR123 batteries. Currently they are selling a 20-pack of batteries for just $25.00 + shipping. They are new Toshiba lithiums. The fellow forum friend says that they occasionally have packs of 30 for the same price. Go to:

I have ordered some already because it takes too long to follow someone around hoping they will drop theirs.

I wondered who that guy skulking around with the silly grin was.
I didn't stop to ask 'cause I was too busy trying to find my batteries.

I have already ordered a quantity of those from Botach Tech.
Hope they're as good as the Tekcells I got from
http://www.allelectronics.com

$2.60 each if you buy 10 or more. There's another price break at a larger quantity but I don't recall what that is. (more than I needed/wanted to spend)
