Nice duck, very nice .... so how you finding the S3 now you had a chance to play around with it ???
Got keys to my new studio also on Sunday, so going tonight to play around in it .... looking for good UK re-sellers for backgrounds now too ...

Thanks Barbara...
Steve... I like the S3, it feels a little more robust than the S2, and I am liking the vertical shutter release. The memory buffer might be a litte faster than the S2, but with larger files they still take longer to save. I also got a 4Gig Compact flash, and now can hold over 830 high res JPEG images... I am still playing with the S3, but as for making the jump from the S2 to S3, no learning curve needed, I felt right at home with the S3... I will start expierementing with shooting in RAW mode... as long as I can shoot fast enough with young ones running around. I might opt for the buffer upgrade, when I have some extra cash in hand.

Bryan - very nice - I'm paying attention to your images of children, as I have 6 grandchildren (4 of them actually like being you 'models' :) ). Of course, I'm a long way from achieving your standard, but I continue to learn!
I've been using the S3 for about a month. The learning curve isn't too large moving up from the S2, however, when I do shoot raw (which isn't all that often as the JPGs are so good), I do find it a real pain having to wait for the buffer to finish writing ... can't even change camera settings during the writes!
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks.... and I would have to agree. That is one area that I am most frustrated with. I shoot high JPEG, because they are good, but I much rather shoot RAW, but with the slow write speed, I miss out on so much with children. Older kids, and adults can sit there and hold a pose, children do not... I can fire off 5 or 6 shots, knowing I got at least one good expression, but having to wait 20-25 seconds for the buffer to clear, I could have missed the best shot... probably not, but I could have. :mad2:

Very nice shot, Bryan. I love the color of the background. And you've got a lovely young model there.
