Maybe you'll have a go at my picture?! I took this picture in september 2005 and now I would like to have a large photo print of it to hang on my wall.

Just feels like I should do something with it in Photoshop.
So, if you want have a go at it...
I'm anxious to see what you'll come up with.

Oh boy a victum... and one who volunteered!

Take your pic. First one is just color and levels adjustment with increased contrast. Others are really a pimp job.

First of all - nice shot! I definitely would want that hanging on a wall somewhere! Secondly, nice renditions Jim - you didn't leave much for me to try! :) Here's a couple slightly different from Jim's.
Regards,
Bill

I tried three variayions to downplay the background.

If I had time, I'd add to the top and add the end of the antlers.

The original photo is beautiful and it would be my choice to print and put on the wall. Lots of very interesting variations of the original---from subtle to scary!

here is my contribution

Seems a good place to experiment with my first upload: -

Did it :-) Had a few few problems getting image uploaded at first.

I thought I would have another go.

I rarely use Photoshop by the way, I hope that doesn't matter in this thread as neither image was worked in Photoshop.

Hi there Random,

I think the first image is my fav out of the two. What did you use on these images? Was it paint shop pro?

Hi Maz,

Thank you for your kind comments and question. I do use indeed PSP in favour of Photoshop most of the time. I find I can work more quickly in PSP and it seems to handle very large files better.

PSP however is not the whole story, I am a mixed media artist rather than a photographer, though photography plays a part in my work. I use digital as well as traditional media to create my work often passing pieces back and forth between cyber space and the real world via printers and scanners to achieve the results I want.

Photographs are often a raw material from which I extract information for creating 3D models or perhaps to use as textures, in fact my photos suffer a huge amount of physical and digital abuse.

In the case of the two images in this thread, I did use PSP. In addition I used the photos as raw material for some 3D modelling though I kept it fairly flat so as to retain much of the original character of your original images.

Hi there,

I have played in PSP 8 before and made a couple of pictures from scratch, but I am not particluarly good at it! I do like messing with my images in Photoshop and trying to come up with a completely new take on my original image. Have always said I think I am a frustrated artist inside!!!!

Hi Maz, it's very rare I start my images in PSP, but it's a very useful tool and I couldn't do without it.
