Hi Everyone,

Just thought I would post a view here as no one seems to be using it. I think the S2 is great and also this forum is great too. Everyone keep up the good forum.

It sure is a great forum. I have learned a lot here.

One thing is I learned is that my 24-85mm lens focuses better using a focus point other than the center one - this has given me some better shots.

Another is that my camera is not necessarily that unsharp. It is me (unsteady), my lenses (some cheap), and learning some better sharpening techniques - and camera settings.

This forum is perfect for all of us. There is a mix of pro's and amateurs, and people treat each other very well and don't talk down to the lesser experienced (like me).

Sure beats the usenet groups where all there is is D100 vs S2 arguments.

It is worse than hot roders arguing about Ford and Chevy. You really have to sort through too much flaming drivle to get to any useful information.

With regards to camera shake I have noticed that the higher you have to hold the camera the more at risk you are to shak. I love the Hasselblad 45 degree prism. When I used a Bronica that was a high aiming camera I suffered from more shake and my shoulders were really sore after a long wedding. The 45 degree finder allowa you to keep your arms close to your body for a more stable platform. A monopod also helps and it provides great support for the camera while you are not in the act of shooting. It would really be great if I could get a S2Pro with a 45 degree finder.

You'd think people mature enough to buy an S2 (or D100) would be mature enough to discuss it. There's something about Usenet I guess.

Yes, a monopod would prbably help me. I'll give me new 24-120VR a chance first. It looks hopeful.

I was hearing about someone that had a two-legged 'pod' (bipod?), and that it helps stop some movement left and right. Haven't seen any though. Sounds interesting.

I think I have heard about them bu have never seen one. I use this great hulking Bogen monopod with a pistol grip on the top so I can get vertical.

Back when I posted to a couple of newsgroups I sometimes got the feeling that the posters were young and did not own the equipment that they ranted about. One talked about how much he loved the built-in flash on his F-100 Nikon (???). I'm still trying to find the built-in flash on my F-100. Another one was telling me that I would see a big increase in print quality if I would dump my Hasselblads and get a Canon EOS system, because Canon made the best lenses in the world (???). Some of the posters were really good but it is just not the same as this site.

Dang, I thought I was the only one that couldn't find the built in flash on the F-100.
