Power May Go Down II

Looks like we're doing it again. This time, no lightning, but "rolling blackouts".

Power is out again and the forum may go down in the next 30 or so minutes.

For those who don't know, "Rolling Blackouts" is our emergency way of recovering power in the state where we're using too much power than we can produce and have to shut off city blocks (less emergency stuff like hospitals/fire stations/etc.) temporarily. These rolling blackouts can last 30 minutes to many hours. :(

Bryan,
why on ever the forum was'nt connectable here from Germany for the last 30 minutes. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can manage your power- and heat problem in California.

We are not heading any power outages, maybe because air-co's are uncommon over here.

Next week we are heading to the Balearic Islands. They've got a huge power-consumption too and they also are expection the first outages for the next week.

Now I understand, why UPSs are common over there...

If you hadn't guessed, power's back on. Went out at 11:05am local time and the UPS for the internet died at about 11:55am. The forum server remained up until I manually shut it down at about 12:30pm. Of course, the power came back on at 12:32pm. Sheesh.

2 minutes outage .... well, if I could provide my CATV-Ops that QoS they would be happy !!!
