Hi Barbara,
I use the older Bowens Esprits - they are really well made and I'm sure you will get great use out of them. Look forward to seeing some results.

Yup ... Bowens make good lighting, I use the Esprit 500 twolight kit myself.
Why do you need a studio, dont you have a garage or large room you could use to practice on ???
Congrats aswell ... did you get yourself a light meter ??
If not I would recommend the Sekonic L-308S great little unit.

Yes i got a lightmeter, Gossen Digipro F. as i am not up on lightmeters i took what was recomended...................Need to study the settings tho.....No Steve i don't have a garage my small bedroom is not big enough.... i was going to do it in my living room now i've seen the size of the lighting i don't know if it will all fit.....It means putting the dining table out side the patio doors......As you can see i have a lot to think about.......Now i have spent all this money out i need to try and get some back.......It might take a long time tho... LOL......Thanks all for taking the time to comment.... Barbara

No problem, my biggest mistake was the colour cast bouncing off teh living room walls .. customs white balance is a must :)

I use two 30-year old Bowens Monolights. They've been terrific. Coincidently, one just failed. it doesn't seeem to be getting power through it. Not bad for 30-years of flawless operation.

Charlie,
The Bowens Monolights are workhorses. I have three of them and still use them in the studio.
