So, my 1Ds started shooting soft with multiple lenses. Melody also said that it's overexposing 2 stops which I didn't think it was for my shooting conditions.

So, packaged it up, got an RMA online with Canon and shipped it back to my old house neighborhood. Doh. That was nice having Canon a few blocks from my at my old place.

Anyway, it's a year and a half old and the warranty is only 1 year. Sent them the list of complaints and got an answer back last night saying they see the problems and will fix and clean at no charge.

I'll have to see how it all turns out when I get it back, but so far, way to go Canon.

Well, I've actually had the 1Ds back for a while now. Just haven't had much chance to shoot with it seriously. The hawks and Deer Pano were shot with it, but, low light or handheld with slow shutter speeds doesn't help me test. :)

It would appear that everything is good again though. They fixed it and sent it back for free even though it was 6 months out of warranty.

However, they never really said what they did except make sure everything was to factory specifications and cleaning it.

Also, they shipped it back on a Friday. I got the email notification on Monday morning telling me that it had shipped. That was bad since I was out of town. But it didn't ararive until Tuesday when I came home anyway. :)

Overall, I'm satisfied with thier customerw service as this is the second item to go in for repaiars. The other was fixed for free as well. Just a lack of communication on thier part, wbut everything went fine.

That's good to hear. Service is a bit like insurance - you don't know how good it is until you need it......
