Hi All- could use some advise...
For the most part, I like all the new features of the upgrade , but and this is a big but...
I'm getting some strange skin tones...
I notice this mostly at weddings, and it is inconsistent. Given good light, everything is ok, but given less than perfect light sometimes the skin tone looks sort of plastic. I have noticed this with both flash which is more common, and also with natural light.
Doesn't always happen, but there are times when the skin tone is just horrible.
Perhaps related, or unrelated is my abilty to get a pleasing WB. I had a wedding yesterday which had difficult conditions- November sun, low in the sky blazing through tinted windows like kleig lights, ultra contrasty , and my WB was all over the map. Auto WB was too cool, ( as usual), flash too was too warm and sometimes resulted in the waxy skin tone, cloudy WB was also a little wierd... I tried custom WB with a grey card, which also had mixed results...
I usually shoot at Normal Tone compensation or -1, and Color space I, and leave Hue alone.
Can anyone out there offer any suggestions????
