Calumet guys just ROCK go in there with a d4 head couldn't get the modeling light out without breaking it, they did though, and no charge! Amazing the tricks those with experience know just a tiny piece of rubber cloth applied enough to do the trick without breaking!
Then I continued my drive to the beach such a happy girl!

Well, I brought my Speedotron Flash power pack to Calumet Photo (in Bensenville, IL) to have the sync cord receptacle (household) replaced. They got it done for no charge. I have had other repairs done there that cost less than I expected, as if they only charged for parts and not labor.
The best customer service I ever experienced was when I worked at Vogue-Wright Studio near Chicago. The studio owned about 100 8x10 Deardorff view cameras. John Deardorff, the grandson of the camera manufacturing founder, would wander through the studio inspecting and adjusting cameras, some of which were several decades old (serial numbers in 3 digits). John would usually leave misc small parts (ground glass clips, new brass knobs, etc.) on photographers' desks for us to install when the camera(s) weren't on-set (in use). He was not asked to do so, he just volunteered the service.
