Bought a brand new S2 two weeks ago, wahey it's great, after a couple of consumer digicams later I get the S2 and I've definatly decided no more film for me again, it's stunning.

Anyway did a really nice landscape then noticed upper middle of the sky a little round shadow. Anyway tried it out on a piece of white card at f18 and there it was clear as day.

Really annoyed so bought a Turkey baster to try and clear it but put about five or six more bits of dust on, the turkey baster obviously sucks in a load of atmospheric dust.

So since then I've left it and have now had all my little mail order parcels arrive, rocket blower, sensor swabs eclips and PSU and will try it out at the weekend.

I've cleaned a the heads of broadcast video machines many times in the past at a cost of 5-6 grand a head with lint cloths but am not happy to face cleaning my S2 sensor. Will try blower only first of course.

Anyway, great to find an S2 dedicated site, it's like joining a gentlemens drinking den. A drop of morphine for your ails anyone?

Cheers

Hi Benny,

Don't worry, after the first cleaning you will be an expert...and you will probably wonder why you were so apprehensive about it at all. Don't feel too bad - my S2 came with some "factory installed" dust - I had to clean it before I even took it out for it's first thorough shoot.
