certainly this must be the greatest forum around, what is shown here is certainly talent.
And by talent I mean just that, hats of to all who are interested enough to participate.
Thanks and a warm thanks again to all who share there knowledge on these threads.
It's just good to see so much general interest in the same subject, we're all S2 fanatics. And that's just a simple and comforting thing to see, that so many people can share an interest and discuss freely about it.
Happy to be part of this.

Ditto all the above, just glad that I found this place. Even though I am not totally geared up lens wise, and some of my material is sparse, I aim to try to help when I can.
Its unusual for find a dedicated forum for one piece of equipment, but this forum here is just what I was looking for. With everyone practically using the same equipment, we are all familiar with our cameras and the way that they work, that way the information can be relayed better and more accurately that a broader based equipment forum.
Thanks for creating it Admin !!!
Steve
P.S. I will apologise in advance for any difference of opinion I might have in my happy future here with anyone

Yeah I agree...
It's great to know that there are other people
"That don't have a life" as my wife puts it...

I too am amazed, and vdery happy, that this forum is used so frequently for what is a fairly unusual camera. (Compared to some other cameras)

Yup, one of the best forums I've ever joined. And when I say that, I say that not only towards the information that's here, the format and the ease of use, but for the intelligence of the people here that is so versitile and mostly compatible with so many people from so many differing areas. Usually, with this amount of people, from so many places around the globe, someone is stepping on someone on a daily basis, and I've only seen one nasty set of posts regarding a particular Canon camera recently which I won't bring up anymore. Not bad in 9 months that I've been here.
Hey Timo...I was just thinking. Maybe your wife with a life and my wife with a life can go out somewhere while us no-lifers go on a photo shoot somewhere since we live kinda close. hahah.

I agree very much with the sentiments expressed. This is much better a forum than many I have belonged to. If I can't get to it for a couple of days, I really miss it. I get a lot from it and for the most part think everyone is pretty polite. It sure beats some forums (especially on DP review) where people spend hours discussing how many angels can dance on the head of a pixel and where the cheapest thingamajig can be found (not to mention the name calling and meaningless arguments). In this forum we usually see people who are interested in using their cameras better so that their pictures are better and; excuse me for over simplification; but isn't that the point?

We've had plenty of long discussions here recently and none of them have been rude or impolite, this makes this forum civallized.
This is my first and only forum , and it's helped my photography heaps, even subjects which i don't think apply to me , i read they may come in usefull later on as i get better.
As most of you know i'm a trucker (don't say it), and semi retired, well i thought i was untill the last month or two ,when works been flooding in. But i try to get on here once a day , and even during coffee breaks i switch on , my boy's come in the office and yell ''he's talking to them yanks again''. but i've even converted some of my drivers to photography thanks to the pics posted here.
I enjoy taking part in the new ''challenges'' section, but it is time consuming, and i may have to drop out of one or two.
This fire truck one should be easy for me , i live 300 hundred yards from the main Medway fire station, drink with a least 5-6 firemen on different watches, and my brother-in laws a chief fire officer.
What happens? , this weekend thanks to work i'm in a hotel in Lincolnshire, miles from anywhere. only my dog , S2, and laptop for company, and it's been raining, still home on tuesday , with a bit bigger wallet , i hope
Sorry for the ramble, i only wanted to say THANKS this forums great.

I agree with all the comments posted about this forum.
I started wondering why it is the way it is...
Theories:
Intelligent people buy the S2 :D
- Probably somewhat true, since one must be able to hold down a job to be able to buy one (and the lenses to go with it!)
- Probably lots of research went into the decision, which shows intelligence too
- Knowing the intelligence of the others here helps - you know if you take the time to explain something, people will actually read it and gain from it.
People are posting their avatars - not as anonymous, so people aren't as likely to say things they shouldn't.
Not sure why, but peoples' egos are not getting in the way here. If anything, it helps - if someone is really good at something here, instead of looking down their nose, they share it.
Hell, we even allow truckers in here! :D
Sorry Sandman! :D
I really appreciate this forum. I seem to find myself here no matter what else I am doing on my PC. I seem to learn something every couple of days. And I'm glad to share anything I have picked up on my own.
Thanks guys, and thanks to Shawn for running it.

Yes. Research. If the Canon and Nikon people did thier research, and even as Lightwrangler mentioned, Kodak... They'd see that the S2 is the biggest bang for the buck and produces some exceptional images. A lot of people have been suckered into buying, say, the D100. I know they're not happy when I show them images from my camera. Intelligent on thier choice? Probably not. They probably though of a Name when they were buying. Nikon or Canon.... I've been brought up to where Nikon is THE camera equipment to have in 35mm. I know some have been brought up that Canon is. Either way, Fuji? Why do I want to buy film for my digital? :D
