Take a deep breath before you shoot and you will do good. After the first 10 or 15 photos you will get into a groove and start figuring it all out. Try to capture the moments of the day like you are telling a story to someone. Hope that helps, let us know how it goes :righton:

My wife, daughter and myself have been shooting weddings now for 8 years. We take 3 cameras, studio lighting, a couple tripods and other equipment. Before the wedding prep shots need taken, both the bride and groom as well as family and friends. You might want to take someone else to help shoot. While your shooting formals of the guys whos going to shoot the bride getting her gown on and other events taking place. It's imposible to cover a busy wedding day with a single person. We take 1/2 hour for the guys and 1/2 hour with the ladies for formals. We start 2 hours before the ceremony for formals, guys first, then the ladies. During the ceremony its nice to have shoots from several angles and most churches do not allow flash so white balance a camera or two for ambient light before the ceremony. After the ceremony reset up formal lights and get ready for the group, family and bride and groom portraits. Lights can be set up during the send off thats why two people are very handy to have on the job. And what are ART SHOTS? Most people don't really know what an art shots is. A wedding is fast pace run and gun while keeping the quality at your very best. Don't get to cute, just use lighting for formals. a flash for all other shoots and capture good formals and candids. Get faces and expresions with every shot. OH! and no eating food pictures, that's discusting seeing people shoving food into their faces. After over 200 weddings they still kick our butts every weekend. Good luck and stay ontop of things. Check out our web site. movingpicturesmp.com

the sole purpose of this tutorial is FUN!
If some one asks you to shot they're wedding as you like it, no matter what way you shoot it, they will pay. RUN! is the best thing you can do.
If some one ask you to shoot a Romanian wedding, RUN FAST.
The Romanian wedding:
Usualy it starts on friday afternoon with a custom called "Batutul brazilor!" <evergreen party>.
People go to the groom's place, there they put evergreen branches at the door and then they eat and drink. They take the groom and go the godparents house, there they put evergreen branches at the door and then they eat and drink. They take the godparents and go to the bride house, were guess what, there they put evergreen branches at the door and then they eat and drink. There could be some added dancing, the bride and groom try not to drink that much cause they will have a hard day Saturday, the big day!
Saturday: aka "The wedding day!"
First the civil ceremony, held at a special place. celebrated with champagne and cookies.
Then the bride house. She gets dress, then fast to the groom's house, take him, go to the godparents house, take them and <yeah it's immposible> wait for them at the bride's house so you can leave for the church (in this time everybody eats and drinks)
The local park were you do some portrait and formal with bride groom, parents, godparents, grand parents and some relatives and close guests.
Then the church. <aka the longest boring part that repeats itself over and over again> were you shoot in low yellow light.
Than the "reception" <giant party with tons of food and drinks> were everybody eats and drinks. The major events are: the first dance <usually a waltz>, the cake cutting, the bouquet throwing <yeah its done inside>, the garter throwing, the veil. Then is six o'clock in the morning, your eyes are almost dry (hopefully you didnt eat or drink too mutch or you going to regret it). Everyboy and you goes home. You take some 6 maximum 8 hours of sleep. then you download photo's (unload film) and go to the lab with a coffe in your hand. you spend the next 3-4 hours printing. It arround 15 or 16 hrs when you take the photo's to the bride's house. They are in a huge familly party, and if they stood up during the wedding, no theyr getting down and dirty (they eat and drink). You deliver, take your pay, remember yourself that they dont pay enough and go to sleep. The next day you go to work, they go into the honeymoon, and everybody is happy, unless they call back! "Were is my brother's in law, cousin, he come for 5 minutes at my wedding and you didnt get him, you are the worst photog in the world, i'll tell everybody!!! bye
You look in the mirror and say: Someday my landscapes are going to sell!
then you remember your deadlines for the current projects and start working like crazy!
