View Full Version : Brightness value keeps changing

This is driving me nuts. :baldy: I am using the S2 in a studio set up with cold fluorescent studio lighting. I am finding pictures go brighter and darker without any apparent change in the subject, lighting or camera settings. The exif information confirms that aperture, shutter, ISO, exposure compensation, in fact eveything, has not changed, and yet one picture is bright and the other dark. Then I noticed that a thing called Brightness Value is jumping all over the place. One shot 2.7, the next 3.5, then 2.5, then 4.0 and so on, even though nothing else in the exif has changed, the subject is still, and the lighting has not changed. Can anyone enlighten me as to what brightness value is, why is it changing, and what can I do to prevent it from changing and ruining my pics. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Dave

Sorry - I can't really help with this one, but I just thought I would point out you have posted this in the *Canon" problens area rather than the Fuji one

Welcome to the Forum Dave!

I bet the problem has nothing to do with Fuji or Canon, ...

See my fuller stab at an explanation in your other thread:

[EDIT] This problem has be unraveled. The cause appears to be a faulty aperture mechanism in the lens.
