Hi all !

I had some ideas for making animated things, using the D200's "Interval Timer" thing !

...i allready have a few series of shots, but i don't know how to make an "animated GIF"... I searched over the net, found a few tutorials -using Photoshop-, but none of them worked: there's allways something missing, or a bug...

Anyone of you knows a good way to get god results ?

I would like to make about 800x600 pixels animations, with more than 10 images, with the smallest possible file, in order to be able to upoad in a post...

TIA for any help,
J-P.

Thanks Bob ! I tried both softwares, but none was "that" easy...

...i eventually found "Easy GIF Animator" giving good results, but it seems that it's impossible to obtain relatively small files if you don't shrink the images down to less than 200x200 pixels :( !

...pity, as i produced a nice "Life and death of flowers" animation, with a serie of 40 images of 800x600 pixels, but the resulting "movie" is 5.5 Mo !!!

Too big to upload here :woot: !

You could just put each picture into Windows Movie Maker (free) frame by frame and then create the output movie file whatever size you need - although the quality will obviously change...

Here's what i found: i can upload my GIF file of 5.5 Mo at Pbase and pass the URL into a post here !

Here we go..... hoping it'll work :beat: !

...and it did WORK !!!

Strange, as i uploaded a *.GIF file, but Pbase "translated" it into a *.JPG file ! ...but if you click on the URL in the post, this drives you to the Pbase page and runs the animated GIF !

I'm HAPPY !!!

hi JP,
gifs are not for photo's but more for graphic. If the image is a simple graphiv with few colors use gif, when its a photo (like this) use jpg. U can have an animated flash. There is also a software that morphs the files using control points that u specify and makes the translation between them. Try making an avi out of jpeg, u will have smaller files and better quality all over.

J.P,
i agree with rekhon about flash. you can create a movie form your shots and convert them to a SWF movie.

here is a sample( you need flash to view)

and some software to do it

Thanks "reckon" and Eddie !

I found out that the way i did it work, but the problem is that it only works ONCE ! (once you clicked on the URL of my post, you see the action running, but if you click a second time, you only get the LAST IMAGE !

...apart from that, i don't know anything about these techniques you say... i tried to EXPORT -from ImageReady- the sequence into a *.SWF file, but when i click on it, i only get a message saying that "the file cannot be read !" ! ...and i tried to use the "Open with..." by right-clicking on the file, but i can't find where the "executive" of Shockwave is installed, on my PC !!!

Any more help -or a tutorial- would be really appreciated...
