What I did is quite simple: duplicate BG layer(always safer:beat:), add an adjustment layer for levels, correct r,g and b separately according to taste (mine in this case)
You can always dubble click the adjustment layer and change the settings.

Is that the hoped for umph?

Claude,

Are you certain that you're not Ernest Hemingway???

Barbara - thanks for letting us play with this very nice picture of a beautiful young lady. (Young is relative - at my age anybody under 60 is young :) )
Used levels to lighten a bit. Sharpened the eyes - wanted to make the main focus to be on her eyes. Softened the skin ... added a touch of color to lips ... used Render Light (soft omni) to change the lighting a bit. Used healing brush on a few distracting spots. Probably a bit over the top on the glamour look.
Regards,
Bill

There are various 'dragonizer' effects/looks - depends on how much 'grunge' look you want. Here is a sample from my first rendition that I ran thru a 'dragonizer' action in PhotoShop.

Barbara - I am not the author of the action. The author is Sharon Lee Core. You can get it at my download area:
http://www.twinoakphoto.com/download/Draganizer.atn

Save it to the actions folder: Usually is Presets\Photoshop Actions\

So many looks possible ...Good luck 'playing'

Hey - isn't it 12:30am in the UK right now! You should be in bed, not playing around in the digital darkroom!
First of all, do you get the action loaded OK? THen 'play' it? There are quite a few steps to the action - some require doing something outside of the action, then pressing play on the action toolbar (for examle, using the paintbrush, etc). If you can't figure it out, I'll prepare some documentation (tomorrow - unlike you I NEED my beauty sleep)
... oh yeah, here's yet another rendition - can't stop playing with your pic! - maybe because I haven't had much time over the past few months to work on pictures)
