What is the difference in functionality and performance btwn the SB-80 and SB-80DX besides the fact that the DX model will work with Nikon digital cameras and the non-DX will not?

Hi again,

First I should say I am no a pro when it comes to flashes. I sold my S2 in which the SB-80 flash worked fine with. My new camera is the D100 which requires a DX flash for D-TTL. Besides that I can't tell you the differences. I would suggest going to Nikon's website or digitalreview and read about these 2 flashes if you are interested. On ebay recently all the SB-80's are going for over $150.
