I'm having problems when raw converting.
When pulled up in the viewer software, the file looks fine in raw mode. When I use the Fuji raw converter, some of the files in a folder will convert only partially (half of the image will be black as though it is a corupt file!!)
Any ideas as to whether this is in the capture or conversion stage? Is there a way to convert differently to try to save these files.
I'm going to try Bibble, but have been unable to access the web page yet!
Thanks

This could also be a software and/or disk problem.
Try the following: - uninstall the Fuji software
- defrag your hard drive
- reinstall the fuji software
If the problem persists, then it may be an image problem.
Do you format your image cards with the PC or your camera? PC formating seems to have it's own set of problems.
Also, give QImage Pro a try. www.ddisoftware.com
You can do conversions with QImage also. Personally, I dislike Bibble.
Hope that helps.

Keep in mind that in a Raw file there are two parts.
A .jpg thumbnail and the actual raw file data.
While you are able to view the thumbnail if the raw file data is corrupted then you won't get the full image converted if any at all.
Don't forget to move the files from your camera media to your PC hard drive BEFORE you do the conversion.
One of the Fuji Raw converter file managment shortcomings is not being able to specify the output destination. If you are trying to the do coversions on files still in the camera memory then it might be running out of space. A 12 to 13meg Raw file will convert to 35 meg or 8 bit and 71+megs for 16 bit.

Good point, Mike. If you have not moved your images to the hard drive, then you may well be running out of space.
That brings up another possibility. The fuji software only converts to TIF and the TIF's take up a LOT of disk space, so it is also possible that you are running out of room on your hard drive. Check to see how much free space you have. If you are getting low (less than a couple of Gig), then you may want to consider adding a new hard drive, and using it just for your images.
