I have been looking at the ibm/magicstor microdrive cf+. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried it. It's just a little more than the 1gb microdrive and it has twice the storage. Just wondering what's the catch.

Not sure what the difference is but you could try and email Fuji to see if it should work.

I noticed on one of their ads that they say the Fuji S2 is supported. Let us know if you get one of these MD's... would be a very cost effective storage solution!

No they don't work well. I've posted this on 3 other strings. I bought 2 and used them in 2 different S2s. One card worked somewhat but was very unreliable. Would'nt initialize all the time.
The other did'nt work at all. Formating with the camera does'nt help. I know my S2 and it does'nt like these cards.

Thanks for the info. I was afraid of that.

From listening to other digital photographers and looking at other posts in this forum, I think I will try to purchase multiple 256 mb or 512mb cards and an image tank. That way I can change them like rolls of film on photo shoots. I don't want to run the risk of losing big chunks of a photo shoot b/c of microdrive failure. After having my Hitachi 1 gig microdrive fail, the big cards kind of scare me.

For studio work I just started to use the firewire connection and camera shooting software. So far I really like it.

Thanks again for the reply.
