Satisfied/dissatisfied poll

I debated for so long between the D100 and S2 because I'm such a devoted Nikonian. I wound up picking the S2 and I couldn't be happier. I am really enjoying this camera!

I know what you mean... I spend an entire week debating between the S2 and D100. The S2 was always the clear winner, but I did my best to justify getting the D100, even if it meant more money out of my pocket... I am a true Nikonian (Assistant Admin on the site)... so I felt a little guilty getting the S2... but now that I have it, i love it. Dont get me wrong, I love my Nikon N80 and F100... and when Nikon makes a digital better than the S2, I will get one!

One thing that's true of all S2 buyers is that they could have bought a D100 for less money. I suspect most did not buy it for the "snob appeal" of Fuji brand over Nikon's name ;) , so there must have been some other concerns.

I would have liked to have been able to justify a D100 too. It was in stock at my local pro shop and it would have been very easy to do, but the color and contrast I was seeing out of the S2 was better, so I waited a few days and paid the extra dough.

Although, if you factor in the purchase of the MB series battery pack (to get the voice annotation, etc. for the D100), and the purchase of an AC charger for the D100, the price difference becomes more comparable.
