OK here we go again. With my s2 and sb 80dx flash, it seems the aperture priority mode with flash turned on, will freeze the shutter speed at 1/60th. This does NOT allow me to change the shutter speed, big bummer when I want to shoot a group outside at f 11 and use the flash as fill. What I am doing for my outdoor shots with fill flash is setting the camera to a shutter speed priority, choosing what I hope will give me the desired aperture, and using the sb 80dx as fill. This works fine but.....I would rather use aperture priority obviously.

thanx again in advance

If you turn on slow sync (together with or without rear curtain sync) you will be able to select slower shutter speeds in aperture priority and program modes with the flash active.

You will need to then use exposure compensation to tweak the shutter drag as desired - e.g. -1 for 1 stop below ambient -2 for two, etc.
