I am, like many others, are concern about the LCD being so fragile.....I would like to protect it while using the camera....Anyone have any suggestions? I was using those little self stick sheets.....Is anyone making a "real" clear protector "Door" like the frosted one included with the body?

Any suggestions?

Thanks:)

I put a piece of clear packing tape over mine.
I cut around the edges so it fits perfect.
It is invisible when the LCD is on and does a good job of keeping it from getting scratched.
And it was free!

I think I would be concerned about the adhesive from the clear packing tape making a mess sometime soon.

A better choice would be to buy the clear covers that are sold by Tallyn's, among others. These do not use any adhesive.

I cut down a PDA (palmpilot) screen protector and just slapped it on.

:) Thanks for the packing tape idea...it might even work....but, I just can't see myself putting that type of tape on a $2400. camera body!.....Fuji should have made a clear protector like the one on the D-100..........

You can find PDA screen protectors at most office supply stores.
No need to order them by mail from a camera store.

They are (IMHO) too expensive @ $16.00 each or thereabouts.

Overhead transparencies work just fine also. You can buy a box of them at any office supply store and they are pretty cheap.

Hey Shawn,

Are the overhead transparencies any tougher than the PDA type or "LensHood" Brand of clear sheets? Do they adhere well to the screen?...Sounds like a pretty good idea.:) How much are they?

Thanks

Laren, when you said packing tape I knew exactly what you meant. I use that very clear thin tape on mv lcd displays. I used it for over a year on my s1 and I am not concerned about the minute amount of glue that could possibly be on that crystal clear piece of plastic. It protects from scratches from appearing on the lcd display and does an excellent job at that. What the heck were they thinking about that frosted piece of plastic? Were we actually supposed to see through that plastic and use it that way? Wow. Sometimes I wonder....... jtm
