Dumb charger question

Will a battery charger made for 1800 mA batterys charge 2000 mA (or higher) batterys to there full level, or just up to 1800 mah?. I dont know what the charger looks at to determine when the battery is full, mA or volts.

Simple answer is Yes, but it depends on the unit. It should eventually get there but the charging time will be longer than for the 1800mA cells.
