old lens on new S2

Is it advisable to use an old lens from my nikkormat on the S2. I dont know if it fits but what I am more concerned about is any damage I might do to my lens mount. any experiances would help me here, Im a little nervous as I just went into debt to buy this thing

My motto: If all else fails, read the instructions. On pages 18-19 of my owner's manual, it lists all the types of lenses and what each can and cannot do with the camera. Take particular note of page 19 because it lists the lenses that cannot be used or else they might cause damage to the camera. If you don't have the instructions, tell us what lens you have and someone will look it up for you. Most will fit but not all will work with all the focusing, esposure and metering systems the camera offers.
