Hi there,

I have read many good things about MAHA battery chargers - about how they rapaidly condition/charge the batteries without excessive heat (which is detrimental to battery life).

There are two models I am looking at:

C204F - conditions batteries (discharge) with rapid charging

C401FS - each cell has its own charging circuit. Fast/medium charge is available.

Has anyone used these chargers? Any experiences you can share?

Thanks!

Roël;

I've been using the MAHA C401FS chargers for nearly a year. They are excellent. The 401 monitors each battery individually, this is nice because you can watch the charge times of each cell and "match" batteries with similar charge/discharge characteristics. Having sets of batteries with similar capacity levels and discharge rates will give you the best performance from the set.

I have used other chargers, but the MAHA seems to give a better and cooler charge. Even using the rapid charge feature of the MAHA charger is relatively cool. Excessive heat will damage or destroy NMHI cells.

Nmhi batteries are not as susceptible to memory effects as NiCad's were, therefore the discharge function is not as critical as individual cell charging. Ocassionally I'll completely run down several of my sets of batteries and carefully monitor the charge times of each cell to determine the best match for each set of 4.

I hope this helps,

Dan.:D

Hi ballroom_boy,

I use the C204F charger with the Powerex 2200. The only problem is that the charging is slower than the catalogue specifications. By the way the Powerex 2200 are excellent with the S2. Hours and hours of energy (with lithium).
Regards.
