May sound stupid, but I am a little reluctant to label my CD-Rs with a sharpie. Can anyone reassure me that the ink will not seep through and damage my precious Raw file hard copies.

Many thanks

Jeff

I think you'd be o.k. if you use one of the Fine Point markers.

And be sure to store them where they're cool.
I left one in the CD drive in my laptop which gets pretty warm and wasn't able to run the program that was on it.

I've been using Sharpies on CD-Rs and CD-RWs for years and have never had any trouble. But if you are worried then print a paper lable for the CD. And by the way, never, never, never try to remove a paper label. It can pull the reflective paint off of the back of a CD-R and render it useless.

Hi everyone--I'm new to this forum and just got my S2. refering to wring on a CD-r with a shapie I never had a problem. However I have had problems with CD-R's not reading properly. I recommend several back up copies of the same file. I have lost too much data in the past. I now always make at least 3 copies of all critical data. And of course I have them in different locations. Is this too many? To some people yes. I once read in a business artical that said that any company that doesn't have off site data backup usually isn't around a very long time. Think about this...Let's say you have all your backup copies and your office caught fire. Well now many years of work is gone. It happened to me once. It will never happen again.
