I am thinking about getting a nikor af 60mm macro to use with the S2. Has anyone had any experience with it? I need to do some close up still life work. THANKS!

I've favored this lens for some time now for reproduction of paintings and works on paper. Have not had any problems with focus, including corners. No problems with flair with illuminated or backlit art glass, as a rule. Sharpest at 5.6 or so, but still tack sharp stopped down doing people and objects at gallery openings with bright and irregular lighting. If I get a chance, I'll try to post a pix with it in the gallery section.

Yes, I've been using mine for a while on my D1 and D1X and it also works on my new S2.

Great lens, very sharp.:)

Hi Jonathan,
(I hope the RAW conversion testing is going OK).
Re Micro Nikkors...
You may have looked at a couple of my threads where I'm looking for definative feedback in an attempt to find the best "studio" lens to give me the depth of field I need for tabletop product photography. i.e. a lens that is still pin sharp at f32. Are you able to relate to me the kind of performance you can get out of your particular specimen of the 60mm Micro Nikkor at f32 as compaerd to the sharpest (presumably) f5.6 - f8 range?

A 50mm PC Nikkor would be the Ultimate choice but I don't think they do one. The 85mm version is too long for me.

Best regards,
Martyn.
