Insurance???

Hey guys.

Any input on this scenario:

- Renting
- Got a small business "in my house"
- Want to insure my stuff, cameras computers etc.

What I would like to know if anyone has a similar situation and has it already setup, seems to be a jungle to figure out... What company and what the insurance is called and approximate cost.

I would suggest talking to an independent insurance rep. Most handle a variety of insurance types, as well as multiple companies. (Of course, they sell what pays the best commission, but they know/expect you may do some price shopping... i.e. be slow to sign & be careful).
Some renter's insurance policies will cover small/micro business' equipment. Some companies wrap equipment insurance with small business liability policies.

Ditto on the independent agent. I happen to get mine through the same agent that writes my home and car. I pay about $550.00 for $26,000.00 worth of equipment. If you belong to the Professional Photographers of America you can also get it through their endorsed agent at about the same price. I decided to stick with my local agent.
