Microdrives are around $180 US now, if you didn't have a good excuse to get out of JPEG mode and shoot raw, now you might!
Oddly, the S2 seems optimized for Microdrives, which are faster than CF cards. That doesn't make much sense to me, but there it is.
Unfortunately, we're stuck with FAT16, so those sweet-looking 4G cards aren't going to work well.

In my testing, my IBM microdrive reads and writes about as fast as my Lexar 12x 512MB card. Pretty good.

I've got a couple of 1gig micro's. Still only turn the RAW on in really tricky lighting conditions the post processing is too much for me , and fine jpeg still does it for me in most situations.
Its the TIF i find most useless , why would you need a 35 mb file straight from the camera , after PS work yes, but loss of detail i'm not sure ,you have to be really paranoid to want to examine your prints through a mag glass , just to see any difference .

Photoshop makes it easy to deal with the camera raw files, white balance, sharpen, add a little shadow and maybe a touch of saturation, and Bob's your uncle. I had the plug-in with PS7, now it's built in with CS, and I'm happy with it, more control under CS.

Any grouping of them could have chipped in for a copy of Photoshop CS- so long as all you're getting is Photoshop, and not one of the bundles, it'd be not that bad. Personally, I'd hit up the dog- he can probably be bribed with food ;)
