Hi gang,

I bit the bullet last week and ordered PS CS. I am curious - for those of you who have it, what is your favourite feature?

I think it's a toss up between the photo filters and the highlights/shadows adjustments for me.

I can easily say for me it is the 16 bit layers adjustment

Filter Gallery is pretty neat .... ability to create filter 'layers' to see the effect of combining different filters (can move the filter effects up and down in the stack)

Highlight/Shadow.... I think it does the same thing Curves could do, but it is much easier. I think Elements has an equivalent called "Fill Flash" or something.

HI Gang,

I just installed my *new* copy of PS CS for Mac OS X. The UI looks the same but man, talk about a lot of new features (I also like how Mac users don't have to go thru this activation nonsense Windows users complain about).

I used ACR for the first time - very NICE! So easy to use - I never used the EX converter, what is it like compared to this? Color, etc, seems OK with ACR (unlike the PS7 plugin).

Also played with photo filter, filter gallery, and shadow/highlight. I suspect I will be spending a lot of time behind my Mac learning how to use this stuff :)

Anyway, those of you on the fence about paying the upgrade cost, JUST DO IT! It is money well spent (hey, I have $12K tied up in cameras, lenses, and computers, why not spend $300 for software?)

I had a thead going BTC (before the Crash) asking what the catch is when you use the RAW plugin in Photoshop CS,..

the catch is, there ain't no catch!...

it really works, with minimal fuss, good colour and sharpness. For that reason alone it's my fave feature in CS.
