Hello to you all,
I'm new to this forum, so I give you a short introduction of myself. I'm now photographing for over 15 years, last 8 years with a Nikon F90 and all sorts of Nikkors and Sigma's.
After very intensive market research I decided to buy a new Fuji S2 (instead of a used S1 or D1).
So these are my first steps in digital photography. Anyway, I know how to handle my new camera (all pretty easy in use) but I'm not quite satisfied with the results so far.
The main issue is really the picture-sharpness. When I have a close object (between 1 and 4 meters) I get good results, nice and razor-sharp. When it comes to long distance shots, there's where my problems come in. I used my 28-70 Nikkor and my 17-35 Sigma and in both cases, the pictures are blurred. I can even see it on that tiny LCD panel when I 'pan' the picture.
I took several quite simple shots where you'd expect that focus cannot be the problem, but it is. Even on 1/250, f8, iso 100. That may not be any problem, because the 17-35 focussed to infinity.
IMHO its unaccepable and compared to my F90 inferoir. I can tell you, at this moment, I'm not quite happy with my camera....
So I looked around on the internet and came to the Dpreview Fuji SLR forum. There are lots of threads handling about the same issue (http://www.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1020&message=3786006). Read this link to see all the technical details and possible courses.
Now, I know these forums usually lead to 'stirring up' and all pro's and con's go from boths sides. But, in my situation, I first noticed relatively unsharpness, and then found a sort of conformation in these threads....
My question to you is: Might it be possible that some S2's have this problem? Anyone of you on the forum have had the same problems??
Thanks for any response.
Kind regards,
Patrick
