Hi all

just a quick note on monitors. I have just bought a new mitsubishi 2070SB (NEC in the US I think), after much research I couldnt find many differences between this monitor and my Lacie electron blue 22" other than half the price (even the outer shells and dials are very similar).

after calibrating (I use it for colour correcting offset printing work where calibration is paramount) there does not seem to be any discernable colour differences between the two. So if anyone after a reasonably priced 22" monitor with great colour, 4 port usb hub built-in I would highly recommed it.

Scott, thanks for the info, I'm still looking for the "right" monitor. The Lacie sells for about $900, that means the Mitsubishi is selling for around $450?

You might also look at the Cornerstone p1600 and p1700, pro graphics CRT's. www.bigmonitors.com

Check out the specs, aperture grill instead of a linear display, the five year standard warrantee. Around $750. This was recommended to me by someone who designs high end workstations for a living in CA, he's also a well known digital wildlife photographer some of you may know, Ron Reznick. I've never seen a monitor this nice under $2000.

I'm not sure of the costs in the US, bought it in Australia where the Lacie run at $2300-$2600AUS and the Mitsubishi cost $1300AUS (US should be approx half this). the link as follows: www.necmitsubishi.com/

HulaMike, the Conerstone looks great and seems to be using the same Mitsubishi natural flat Ultra Bright Aperture Grille as the Mitsubishi, (I could be wrong but isnt this the same tube as the Lacie 22?) If this is the case $750 US for a 22" flat sceen is a great price.

hope this helps

Scott, I'm not sure but they do seem the same. The apereture grill is what makes these monitors sweet! Much sharper image, even tiny copy and hairlines if you do graphics as I also do. Mine is the recently discontinued p1650, a 20" version. The best monitor I've ever owned. A monster on the desk though! VBy the next time I'm ready to upgrad a nice big LCD will take it's place.;)
