Hey Melody,
Let us know what you think about it. I have the same book for PS7... and since I upgraded my software, I am also thinking about upgrading the book too :)
Happy reading!

Yes I am eager to hear if it's any good.
I am of course waiting for the new editon of my fave book RealWorld Photoshop.
Great book for people who know the program and are in a real production enviroment.

It's hard for me to say from a comparison standpoint as I haven't had any other of the books. I have ordered Kelby's book for digital photography it's to arrive tomorrow I believe (Barnes & Noble has sent my order of 6 books in 4 different shipments).
What I have seen so far I like it very much, from a newbie standpoint it is very easy to follow. The introduction talks about how he reviewed all the books on the market to see what was missing, an example of high iso noise, blue channel noise, color aliasing etc. and didn't find them addressed except in one high end book for pro's with $15000 cameras and other examples of such....
I don't know if he did this before either you can go to brandx.com and download the same pictures used in the book, so you can practice on the same ones.
In other words so far I like it very much, it will be interesting to see how someone who has more experience, and or other books thinks of it.

I got the CS version last week and so far extremely happy with it. I am newbie (both to photography and Photoshop) and this book has given me a source for no non-sense steps on how to work with CS and my photos.
Highly recommend it.
BTW as to comparison to the version 7 book. They are identical with the exception of the new features to CS (shadow/highlights, file browser,.....)

I just picked this book up today, and it's pretty hillarious. It also seems to be very USEFUL, it sure beats the "how to do this weird effect that you'll never ever want to do if you don't work in the advertising industry" stuff that's in most of the PS for Photographers books.

I borrowed my buddies copy and yes Kelby knows that a straight ahead book is a boring book. He has fun with it, you can really tell he is excited by all this stuff.
As for the content, I'd say there is some really good stuff in there. Some real easy explanations of how some of Cs works!
