As I have reported earlier in http://www.s2pro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=125
the Fuji S2 PC terminal can loosen and unthread. This happened to me when I unscrewed the PC terminal cap. I threaded the PC terminal back in, and it worked fine.

Until my last photo shoot. The PC terminal now does not work.

To work around this problem, I use a Nikon AS-15 hot-shoe to PC adapter.

To fix this problem, I'm afraid I have to return the camera to Fuji of Canada.:(

Your's is the third posting I've seen in various forums about having the sync terminal come apart when removing the cap. I have carefully removed mine, being sure the terminal wasn't turning with the cap. Now I barely tighten the cap. If you do find your sync terminal wants to turn along with the cap, try holding it with some small needle nose pliers to keep it from turning.

There should be some threadlock compound or another retention method to keep the sync terminal from coming apart. There are enough reports to suggest either spotty assembly or poor engineering.
