My first microdrive failed with read errors the second time that I used it, after reformatting it failed again.

Hitachi replaced it with a new one which has just come up with read errors the first time I used it...

Lets hope that My Sandisk Ultra 1Gb card is going to treat me a bit better; unless of course it's the S2.

Igor,

Are you saying that you had read/write errors on your MD, but not on the Lexar? If so that is very good news for me!

Thanks

Yes Gary,
it was a pain in the rear the last couple of months.
About 50% of my turn-ons the camera gave me "Card Not Initialized". I had to turn it off, wait a few seconds, then turn on again. Somitimes it stopped working in the middle of shooting...
I lost a lot of great shots because of this problem.

The Lexar CF card works flawlessly so far.
I posted a thread in the Memory category about it.

I also have two 1 gig Lexar and three 1 gig Sandisk cards. All work perfect so far. The dealer I bought my first S2 from also shots digital as well as several of the employees. They ALL recomended never to trust a micro drive. I also read to many articals of lost images and droped micro drives that stoped working. The CF cards seem to be very reliable and even have been washed and dried in pockets and still worked. I'm glad to hear other are having good luck with them also. :voegeli:
