Plenty of castles in England Wilm , when you come to London , go to Windsor and the Tower of London . if you've time , you won't be disapointed.
Kim , what are holes for except to sail though .
Thanks both of you for your comments. and you Bill , just caught your post as i replied to mine.

Brian,
is was during 2000 ītill 2001 very often in Reading. So I have passed Windsor very often, seen Tower Bridge and as usual all the touristic POI in London too.
But, I love more the unusual places, ... , small castles somewhere in the landscape.
I hate it, when 300 people are walking around and distroying a possible shot.... Itīs everytime a please for me to be alone taking a picture .... even with 15mm :beerchug:
Maybe thatīs the issue I love taking photos into mines ....
Nobodys there
 ( See you summertime )

Wilm maybe you had better stay clear of the Tower of London then.
This was one of the less cluttered part of it , the que to the jewel house was taking 1 hour to get in.

Brian,
I love the castle, we don't have them here either :( , I really enjoy your pictures I get to truely see another part of the world, darn work keeps me from getting to travel. Now if they would just not put those bills in my mailbox I might be able to have a life!

Melody (love that name).
When my cold and the weather brightens up , i intend to travel around some of the more beautiful villages here in the South eastern corner .
But don't get jealous , I'm hoping i can get over there next year , but it would take me a year to see everything i want to . from N.Y.to L.A. (was'nt that a song). so i'll have to cherry pick , but the Grand canyon , Niagra, Nashville , The Rockies, Canadian Pacific railroad, are top of my wishlist .
In the meantime i'll post some more B & W shots ''if and when'' i get out and about .

Hi Brian,
Thank you, it's not too unusual of a name anymore or I've gotten around LOL!
I am still gonna get jealous! I will be watching for them.
I am trying to remember when I was little one of the most impressive spots over here to me was Bryce Canyon I believe it's called to awe a 12yr old with a landscape had to be something. Grand Canyon, yellowstone, didn't (although they are quite beautiful) but Zion and Bryce did. Oh and I do love the drive up hwy 1 Big Sur area, don't miss that!

Still don't get many Melodys in the UK. the most unusual and beautiful girls name i've come across , was a little girl in the corner shop , i said to her mum ''whats she called '' .
'Ocean'
Well quick as a flash , and ever the joker i said ''well give us a wave then''.
Got a funny smile , and they could'nt get out of the shop quick enough . ah well , some you win .

 at least you didn't ask me to sing! Gosh I've heard that so often I can just die! Now I simply reply I can't carry a tune without a bucket! Although I am told I can't think without humming, hey all they have to do is leave the area and they won't hear me ;)

Oh yeah, Kim, me too. I'm afraid he'd take insult as I unconciously imitated it.
Brian, Rocky Mountain National Park is probably a main stop for many of us on this list, I know Mel and I make it out there at least once a year. If you do make it there, let us know! We'd meet you there. You wouldn't even need to wear a rose or anything silly like that, we'd know who YOU were by your accent.

And by the way, another great b&w. I love how you handle the whites. The same quality in the swans is in the white of the porcelain in the store window that I love.

I've got a typical North Kent/ South London accent , bit of a nasal twang , if i go anywhere in the country everyone says ''****ney'' it's not , but to people outside of the south any southern accent is ****ney. Don't know what british TV you get out there but think. ''Eastenders'' , Only fools and horses'', 'the Sweeny ' etc.
A slightly softer Michael Caine. Bob Hoskins is close .
How come my shot of Swans in a moat has decended into talks about regional accents.

Can only speak for myself, but accents have been a hobby of mine for a long time. I grew up in Iowa, the home of the 'non' accent or newscaster's accent. It's where some of the top news achors were sent for training for a non accent. (other than the word wash [worsh] where all those Bostonians and people from Maine stored their r's.)

Sandman - the horizon looks just a wee bit tilted to me.
BUT - what a gorgeous image!! Were these some of the rare civil swans, or did you have to run for your life after snapping this?

Bob thanks, just before that shot i heard wings flapping overhead , and 2 swans came in over the top of me , i was lying down and just rolled over and fired the camera , they landed behind me as trapped me between them and the main group , luckily i was able to go sideways ouy of the way .
You can see them coming in, the horizon is tilted on this one because i was trying to get up as i shot .
