I would love to teather my S2 to a rolling work station or laptop while using it with AC power. But I find the AC adaptor cord too short. Does anyone know of power cord extensions that are on the market and how well they work? I am looking to do the same with USB or Firewire and wanted to know what recomendations you have to use that (speed and reliability of long USB vs. Firewire conectors) and if you have glommed together power, computer teather, wireless sync cords into one cable? I am asking for both studio and location use. And where the hell is all the aftermarket stuff hidden for this popular system?:help:

You can use a 110V cable extension BEFORE Ac adapter.;)

I know a few people here have had problems with Firewire cords that are longer than 16 feet.... You'll want to consider that there is a distance issue with both firewire and USB. Although shooting teathered with USB is worthless really since you can only copy pictures with USB where with Firewire you can actually control the camera with the PC or use the PC as a storage device.

Happy New Year and thank you for helping this newbie in such a terrific forum!
Yes I expect Firewire is the way to go. I don't really have a need to control the camera from the computer though.. do I? Maybe my assistant can monitor my settings to see if I'm on track but I'm really interested in offcamera transfer, storage and client (and me) viewing. Especially because I want to turn off the biased and inaccurate camera screen and view accurate renditions (good Polaroids). I'm looking to get more capture capacity both in quanity (frames) and quality (shooting hi-res raw or tif file) but do it faster (no shutter lag time) and more reliably. I am supposing the Firewire is a faster transfer than USB?
Igor I'm thinking the after adptor extension is more elegant and easier to deal with than having a a heavy lump in the middle of my tether. Still looking for that before I chop up the adaptor's wire to make my own.
