What does a hardcore TTL guy do above ISO 400 with the S2? I'm using the Sb28 at ISO 800 to photograph a stage performance, what camera/flash settings will work for me?

Wow! They let you photograph stage performances with a flash? Where is that??
You can always change the flash mode from TTL to Auto. I don't think the stage moves around much, so the benefit of TTL might be limited!

Matt.

Flash during a performance? Where is that???...Dress Rehearsal. Thank goodness for LCDs, laptops, and forums like this one...I set the camera on Manual, the Sb-28 on "A" and varied F-stop, shutter speed, and exposure compensation until I got the recipe right. What I noticed is that my exposures with this method are more consistent than TTL.
If anyone is interested in my color balancing flash and stage lighting, I put a 1/2 CTO on the flash, do a Custom White Balance, letting the background go a little warm.

For stage, your distance to subject is fairly consistent .. So I recommend manual flash .. adjust till u get a good combination and stick to that .. That's probably more consistent that A or TTL ..
