I have two other posts in this forum, summarized as follows.
* I bought a used S2 that turned out to have been bought originally in Canada
* I ordered an adapter from B&H that had an "advertised" number that matched the number specified in the manual
* The adapter from B&H wasn't correct, so I called Fuji
So, I sent the following to Fuji -
Copy of the receipt of the original sale to the fellow I bought it from
Copy of the bill of sale from when I bought it from the original purchaser
What Fuji told me was that adpaters for non-US cameras cost roughly $300. The wrinkle is that my camera was one of the ones that had the ERR message, and I was given a new camera in place of the one I bought. I originally called Fuji several months ago, explained the provenace of the camera and asked if I should return it to Fuji-Canada or Fuji-USA. They said to send it to New Jersey. The replacement camera was for ... a US camera.
So, after examining the documents I sent to Fuji, I paid the US price - $65. The adpater arrived today, so I'll be cleaning the CCD after I get some PEC pads and methanol!!
My camera also didn't come with the Hyper Utility program which I understand is required to work with RAW files, so I bought that, too.
So, that's the end of the saga. I think the documentation I faxed them convinced them that I didn't knowingly buy a gray market camera, so they approved the US adapter price.
