Help! PS CS problem

Hi Everyone,
I am having some problems with the PS CS. the keyboard shortcuts in photoshop are not working. (i.e CTRL+ Z to undo). i have deleted the preference file and reseted all setting but have no luck.

I would try running the setup program again. Completely reinstall it!

Have you tried to look at the mapped keys?

Thank you for the reply. I have checked the Mapped keys and they are intact. I will try to troubleshoot a bit more before going the reinstall route.

Do you have a registered version of CS? I've heard of this problem with pirated versions.

Sometimes win XP will start up laptop keyboards with num lock on making certain keys, l, m, p, etc as number not letter...

Pirate eh…. did the eye patch give me away?

Ok the problem is now solved. And yes, I do have the registered version of CS.

For those of you interested, here is the detailed summary. (I always wanted to say that).

• thanks Johnny, you were close. After searching on the internet, I found that pirated versions do have this problem, but mine started yesterday. It was working fine before that.

• Sam: thank you for the tip, you were much closer. I do have a new IBM think pad laptop. Some of the keys not only have the 2nd character but they also have a 3rd character on them that gets activated by using the Shift+ num lock. IBM support verified that if the hibernate feature of XP is used; it will activate the 3rd character on occasion.
Now I’m back in business (whatever that means).

ANyone know what other problems the "unoffical" PS CS users are having? Hey, I bought mine from a store.
